The Man Who Planted Trees
The Man Who Planted Trees (French title L'homme qui plantait des arbres), also known as The Story of Elzéard Bouffier, The Most Extraordinary Character I Ever Met, and The Man Who Planted Hope and Reaped Happiness, is the short film I would like to blog about.
I thought it was really cool that it has so many different names, all of which fit it quite well.
I have a deep appreciation for this film primarily because of it's simplicity. It's so endearing to see it, because it's message is not one to attempt to motivate. It is merely to say, "look what humans can do" and more specifically, "Look what just one human can do"
I feel like the ability of one human is often over looked, which is really quite sad, just because we all have a uniqueness to bring to the experience of life, which should be highlighted.
For this reason, as well as the hopeful attitude it brings, I really enjoyed The Man Who Planted Trees from a personal standpoint.
