Da Hunger Games

Okay so... I may be behind with man kind.. but, I watched the Hunger Games for the first time the other night and fell in love with it and I really want to blog about it cause it's that awesome. I have not read the books yet but I am starting right away. The story is probably what I fell so in love with.The fact that it's about survival and a game at the same time was a big part of it that appealed to me. I love the intense action and the suspense about it, you don't know what's coming (you would if you read the book first) it kept me at the edge of my seat. I really didn't understand the whole tribute thing till later, but I just think it's insane how people would pick teenagers just to fight each other for a winner... If it were real life.. there'd be no way I could even stand to take the life of someone, but that is just part of the story. In the beginning of the story too, the fact that it is in the future and District 12 is a very poor town, just adds another feeling of how I feel so devastated for them. During the games, just the way everything happens is so intense. From the beginning where all the supplies is in the middle and it is on purpose to eliminate players right away is just well thought out, and how it's all a field controlled by the outside with computers. After there are less players, it really is a game about alliance and survival. Katniss is mainly on her own until the end, until her and Peeta are together at the end. It also is kind of a love story at the same time of how Peeta has had a crush on her and throughout the games she likes him, but at the same time there's that feeling of how the character of Gale likes Katniss too and at the end you can see how they look at each other with regret I guess you could say.

Another thing that really appealed to me is the cinematography. From the wilderness scenes, District 12's town, the city, they all added a mood to the scene. The action scenes and the whole movie was put together really good. I just can't wait till the other movies comes out and till I get started reading on the first book, I'm excited
