Amelie

I love foreign films. They're so impressive to me in a way. It's so interesting to see how different cultures experience life over all, which is reflected best in films, I think. In films the person chooses what and how they want to depict whatever their depicting, and in Amelie the director chose to depict his country in such a wonderful way.
It's funny as an American viewer to see the interactions, the dialogue, all of it foreign, and yet understandable. It's really quite amazing when you consider the fact that Amelie is a foreign film, so you would think that it would be difficult for American viewers to understand it. Quite the contrary, actually. Although some parts were slightly confusing, the film's main theme were understood completely. They are understood because they are universal. That's part of what makes a good film a good film.
I adore the French's deep felt emotions. France has such a beautiful way of expressing art and expressing life.
Over all I'm very happy with Amelie. Although it is not perfect, it is defiantly a film worth watching.
